Due to the coronavirus measures in the Netherlands and other countries, the IND may temporarily adjust its policy or working methods. You can find out about the latest changes on the special web page about the effects of the coronavirus. For example:

• The IND is delivering many residence documents at home so it is not necessary to travel to the IND’s desks.
• Employees with a positive decision on a first application for a residence permit are not allowed to start work without a residence document or residence sticker.

Biometric details: new passport photo for new residence document

Last month, the IND changed its working methods for passport photos. From now on, the IND will ask clients for a new passport photo for every residence document. We announced this change last year. The client does not always have to have a passport photo taken at an IND desk. Find out how providing passport photo, signature and fingerprints now works.
